OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1961 in Montréal, Ultramar was formerly known as Golden Eagle / Aigle d’or - the enduring and iconic symbol still associated with the brand today and recognized by millions of Eastern Canadians.
Through the years, Ultramar’s retail service station network in Quebec and Newfoundland & Labrador expanded into Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and P.E.I.

2017
In 2017, Parkland Corporation acquired all Ultramar branded commercial cardlock locations, services for business and services for home in Canada. It also acquired a selection of Ultramar retail service stations.
Parkland provides services to customers across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean region, and the Americas through three channels: retail, commercial and wholesale. Parkland optimizes its fuel supply across these three channels by operating and leveraging a growing portfolio of supply relationships and storage infrastructure. It also provides trusted and locally relevant fuel brands and convenience store offerings.
2015
In 2015, Ultramar launched commercial and home heating services in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
For Business
Services for business include delivering high-quality diesel, propane*, lubricants, and equipment to businesses of every size - locally, rurally and remotely. Ultramar also has a robust cardlock network to meet your business needs.
For Home
Services for home include delivering home heating oil, propane* and equipment to the residential sector.
